What are electric mobility grants and subsidies?
Electric mobility grants and subsidies are a great incentive when deciding to make the switch to renewable energy. European aid for recovery from the Covid-19 crisis also focuses on the green transition to build a better future by promoting the use of green and clean energy.
According to Royal Decree-Law 29/2021, the installation of charging points will be mandatory in new buildings and public and company car parks. At least one charging point will need to be installed for every 40 parking spaces. In addition, the necessary work may be carried out on public roads to install charging points for electric vehicle parking spaces provided for in the Sustainable Mobility Plans.
What are the benefits of obtaining grants or subsidies for Electric Mobility?
But there are major benefits beyond the environmental perspective. Here are some reasons to transform your company’s fleet:
Substantially reduces the noise impact of cities.
In most large cities, public parking is subsidised for this type of vehicle.
Regional and local governments offer various tax advantages that generate significant savings, both in maintenance and in tax payments.
Electric vehicles are not subject to any restrictions on driving, such as in Madrid when pollution levels are high.
Documentation required to apply for subsidies or grants
Subsidies for the 2021-2023 period come from the Next Generation plan and are managed in our country through the IDAE by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge or the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, among others.
Each Autonomous Community (or local council) may require different documentation, but as they are managed by the State Government, they have similar characteristics. The most common are as follows:
✏️ Personal documentation of the applicant; if you are a legal entity, the tax identification number and details of the representative, documentation proving the size of the company, the CNAE (National Classification of Economic Activities), reports showing that you are up to date with Social Security payments, or a certificate of tax residence or activity in Spain.
✏️ The application form or other specific forms, which we will take care of completing.
✏️ Project and/or budget, which we can draw up for you or help you adapt an existing one to the call for proposals to meet its requirements.
✏️ All necessary permits, licences or authorisations to carry out the installation of infrastructure, for example, which Evectra takes care of managing.
✏️ Gather the necessary documentation, such as invoices and bank payment receipts, which must always be in the name of the beneficiary of the aid.
✏️ Other requirements will depend on each call for applications and each organisation.
At EVECTRA we prepare all the documentation for you, so you don’t have to worry about anything. We will go as far as the regulations allow us to go, as sometimes it is the final beneficiary who has to submit the application, for example.
